A: Ring bolts are designed for through bolting of wood, metal, concrete and post or beam applications. What defines them is their "closed-loop design" instead of open-end rings, it connects more stably and decreases the probability of accidentally disconnecting. The "real proper use" is a permanent rotatable connection/suspension point. They are used typically "to secure wire ropes, tension cables and chains" or anywhere a movable connection is required or where suspension for heavy loads is needed including "furniture, shelving and marine installation".
